From my lived experience:
From outside myself:
There is no Prince on a white horse coming to rescue or fulfill me.
There is no Princess who can magically make my life complete.
There is no Fairy Godmother – no God of any flavor, or Mother-figure –
who is going to rearrange the world to meet my every need – including my need for Love.
No one will fully, perfectly
know me…
see me…
hear me…
center me and my needs
– all the time, or even most of the time.
No one can save me from myself:
my looping thoughts,
my habits that weigh me down,
my challenges I haven’t yet mastered.
These romantic dreams – these fairy-tale fantasies
– are common, almost ubiquitous.
They’re attractive. Even addictive.
But they are not realistic or reliably available
(except perhaps during infatuation or the honeymoon phase).
I was very attached to the promise of Ideal Love outside myself.
And I am tenacious – it took enormous pain, loss, betrayal, suffering…
for me to finally accept reality – and be willing to shift.
We live in a world saturated with advertising and social narratives
that quietly promise (sometimes scream):
You will be complete when you buy this… achieve that… find the One.
Books. Movies. Songs.
Stories from friends and family that all echo the same idea:
“When you find the One, you will be Whole.”
And here’s the paradox I eventually discovered:
It is true
– just not in the way most people understand it.
When I truly find, experience, delight-in the One,
I am whole and complete.
I am still on this ongoing quest
to continually experience myself and my world
in Love — increasingly whole and complete.
Meanwhile, this is a Divine Mystery,
not a role meant to be fulfilled by a single person
– no matter how wonderful they are.
A person can support me and help me learn.
They can add delight — or difficulty — to my life.
They can walk alongside me, even warm a cold night.
But placing them at the center of my life
– making them responsible for my meaning, purpose, fulfillment…
is far too heavy a load.
For one person.
For one family.
Even for a whole community.
Rather – I learned the very long and hard way
– Accessing love is an inside job.
Trying to outsource this onto others
was a reliable prescription for struggle, disappointment, heartache…
Does any of this resonate with you?
For much of my life, I lived in ongoing need for Love
– for attention & validation, care & connection
delivered in very specific ways.
And I was never consistently fulfilled – only in glimpses.
I didn’t know it, but it wasn’t
because something was wrong with me – or Them.
I was simply trained – programmed – to be
“Looking for Love in all the Wrong Places”
Everywhere. Anywhere.
Except within my own soul.
When I finally came down to earth
– accepting physical reality
and
– opening to Heavenly reality – here and now –
from inside myself,
Everything began to shift.
And continues to deepen, become even more delightful,
even after decades of practice.
Here’s some of what changed for me:
- I can find the flavor of love I’m hungry for
savoring the flow of Sacred Love, increasingly centered there. - I can share love with others, in ease and grace
from spiritual abundance — without draining, disloyalty, damage to myself. - I can access love here, now, with what is
– without trying to get it from/ through Them –
chasing validation or care from those who may not even know how to give it.
I Choose this kind of life,
this kind of love,
enough to do what it takes to live it.
I am passionate about this possibility.
I would move heaven and earth to Live IN this, to live this OUT.

I deeply desire to live in Spiritual abundance and overflow,
in Rivers of Living Water that are always conscioulsy present in my soul.
So that
wherever I go,
whatever I do,
whether I’m with someone or alone
– Love is not scarce – in my Soul
So that
whether my day, month, year seems Up or down;
whether I seem to be Winning or losing the Game of Life;
whether I feel Good or bad, Right or wrong, Appealing or not;
– I can experience that I am worthy and belong – IN Love
I have found, from this place,
beautiful fruit begins flourishing naturally:
- Freedom replaces control
- Ease replaces effort
- Attraction replaces repulsion
- Spiritual focus replaces physical fixation
The fruit is real.
And it’s delicious.

Over the last couple of decades,
I’ve learned and practiced a different way of relating to Love and relationships
– one that truly works for me, and many I know.
I’ve shared this perspective for over a dozen years now,
with a simple prayer:
More of us stop waiting, hoping, pleading at the closed door
and start noticing, choosing the open door…
Crossing the threshold,
the Doorway that leads right into the River of Life.
The River of Love.
I choose to live IN Love.
To share Love with all my relations.
And to allow Love to continually reshape my world.
So here’s the point:
It serves me to keep dropping the habit of looking out there
to meet my deepest needs
and to keep learning how to receive spiritually, in here,
within my own soul.
This is not theory.
This is Life Abundantly Overflowing
– lived IN Love –
real, embodied, practical.
And I would love to share this possibility with you.
